Biggest MCU event since Avengers 4: Marvel, give us suffering heroes in the dirt!

In the intense Tour de Force The Revenant - The Returner, Leonardo DiCaprio suffered excruciatingly for his first Oscar for Best Actor. The visually stunning battle between man and nature exuded the exhaustion, despair and madness of the main character in almost every scene.

As it stands, the epic craftsmanship and excruciating suffering of The Revenant could also be reflected in an upcoming MCU blockbuster. Eternals director Chloé Zhao has now revealed that the work with DiCaprio is a great inspiration for her film. For me there is only one wish: Marvel, give us suffering superheroes in the dirt!

The Revenant is a great role model for the action in the MCU movie Eternals

In the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, a whole new team of superheroes will be introduced after the Avengers, who have not appeared in the MCU before. The Eternals are beings with superpowers that were created millions of years ago through alien experiments on humans.

Check out our video on the future of the MCU in phase 4 here!

In an interview with The Playlist, director Chloé Zhao spoke about the fact that she draws a lot of inspiration from The Revenant for the action of the film:

Eternals should definitely bring a breath of fresh air into the Marvel universe

The influence of The Revenant on Eternals will not mean that stars Angelina Jolie or Kit Harington will suddenly have to eat real bison leather on set just like Leonardo DiCaprio.

An MCU blockbuster that exchanges thunderstorms and self-irony for superheroes crawling in the dirt or suffering from frosty temperatures in the struggle for survival would be a more than welcome change for me.

The inspiration from The Revenant speaks more to the style of Chloé Zhao she pursued for the Marvel movie. Even if there are still no real impressions of Eternals apart from spongy set photos, the director relies heavily on handmade backdrops and effects for the blockbuster.

With her previous feature films such as The Rider or Nomadland, Zhao has staged smaller dramas and realistic stories from the heart of the American hinterland. Even if an MCU blockbuster is a completely different house number, the filmmaker obviously does not allow herself to be dissuaded too much from her handwriting.

Check out the trailer for Chloé Zhao's Nomadland here!

Eternals is slated for cinemas on November 4, 2021. Until then, I dream a little further about Marvel characters who grind their teeth through the mud or fight bears for survival.

Fired Star Wars star: You won't even notice the scandalous exit in The Mandalorian

Fired Star Wars star: You won't even notice the scandalous exit in The Mandalorian

The Mandalorian, the first Star Wars real series, loses one of its oldest stars. Last week, Lucasfilm fired Gina Carano after she again received negative attention with a post on social media. We won't see the actress in The Mandalorian season 3 or any other Star Wars project.

Of course, that raises a lot of questions about what happens to the star warrior she embodies, Cara Dune. On Twitter, some fans have been campaigning for a replacement with Lucy Lawless in the past few days. Another option is more likely: Lucasfilm will write the character from the series.

Not just from the series: the erasure of Gina Carano's legacy has already begun across all media. Hasbro is removing two announced Cara Dune action figures from the catalog. We should be prepared for the fact that the character will not be mentioned in the Star Wars universe for the next few years.

Can The Mandalorian survive without one of its founding members?

The simple answer to the question is yes.

The Mandalorian: Cara Dune has a lot of Star Wars potential

As is so often the case, however, the matter can be viewed from different angles.

All episodes of The Mandalorian in the video ranking:

To understand Cara Dune, we need to be clear about when The Mandalorian is on the Star Wars timeline. The first season begins around five years after the end of Return of the Jedi. The empire has been defeated and the New Republic that we know from the sequel trilogy is slowly forming.

Cara Dune is introduced as a survivor of Alderaan. This is the first planet to be destroyed by the Death Star in Star Wars. In other words: Cara Dune has a connection to one of the cruelest Star Wars events and is now experiencing a formative transition phase in the star war.

The potential that is hidden in the figure with regard to trauma processing and the reorganization of the galaxy has so far only been scratched. Series creator Jon Favreau has definitely laid the foundation to bridge the gap between 123SHOWS political conditions in the original and those of the sequel trilogy.

Gina Carano's sudden end to Star Wars will not be noticed

With Cara Dune, there is now no more exciting interface to operate in mythology between two Star Wars eras. As one of the Rangers of the New Republic who will keep law and order in the future, we will not see her. As tragic as it sounds, we will probably not even notice their disappearance in the Mando universe.

Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers and Gina Carano - this trio emerged as the core team from the 1st season of The Mandalorian. The latest episodes, however, have positioned Pascal's co-stars as casual marginal figures, if not completely excluded for long periods. They are not necessary for the story to proceed.

The Mandalorian rests alone on the shoulders of Din Djarin and his little green companion. Otherwise, the ensemble changes from episode to episode, which not only offers numerous entry points for new characters, but at least as many exit points for familiar faces - in this case: Cara Dune.

If Jon Favreau keeps the series' narrative rhythm, it would be easy to bury Cara Dune in a subordinate clause and focus on one of the many other strong characters who most recently appeared on The Mandalorian, starting with Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson ) to Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen).

The Mandalorian doesn't rely on Cara Dune

The best option for this is Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and her squad. After the season 2 finale, The Mandalorian is at a point where the series has to rearrange itself. If, for example, the conflicts around Mandalore come to the fore, the loss of Cara Dune should no longer be felt.

Cara Dune is very fond of Gina Carano's personality and image that she became the former MMA fighter through action films like Haywire and Fast

How do you think Gina Carano's departure will affect The Mandalorian?

Great Star Wars rumor continues The Mandalorian triumph: Disney should unpack the contracts immediately

Great Star Wars rumor continues The Mandalorian triumph: Disney should unpack the contracts immediately

Season 2 of The Mandalorian featured a series of perfect casting decisions. Characters that we already knew from other Star Wars stories appeared for the first time in live-action guise as part of the new episodes. The best example of this is likely to have been Rosario Dawon as Ahsoka Tano.

Star Wars rumor: Aladdin star is said to play Ezra Bridger

Lucasfilm and Disney recognized the potential and immediately commissioned an Ahsoka spin-off. As Kessel Run Transmissions reports, the next big Star Wars character from the animation sector could appear in this series. We're talking about Ezra Bridger, the hero of Star Wars Rebels.

The casting is supposedly already fixed: Mena Massoud, known from Disney's Aladdin remake, is to play the young Jedi in the Ahsoka series and possibly WATCHSERIES Star Wars offshoots. So far, it's just a rumor. But if we're honest, Lucasfilm and Disney should draw up the contracts right away.

Mena Massoud would definitely be a great choice for Ezra Bridger. In Aladdin, he demonstrated that he can bring animation characters to life with infectious energy and enthusiasm. Unfortunately, the role offers did not materialize after the billionaire success. The Ahsoka series would be a nice way to bring Massoud back into the spotlight.

Even more well-known Star Wars characters in the Mando universe

In addition to the Ahsoka series, two other spin-off series await us that will expand the The Mandalorian universe on Disney. In particular, these are The Book of Boba Fett and Rangers of the New Republic. So here are a few ways to prepare for the arrival of more iconic Star Wars characters.

You can watch our video for the Boba Fett series here:

In connection with Ahsoka and Ezra, the names Sabine Wren, Captain Rex and Grand Admiral Thrawn are particularly interesting. The latter was already hinted at in the 5th episode of the 2nd season of The Mandalorian. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni carry on the Clone Wars / Rebels legacy in live-action guise. These are promising prospects for the future of the Star Wars series on Disney.

Astronomers have indicated planets from which alien civilizations can observe us

Astronomers have indicated planets from which alien civilizations can observe usRecent research shows that there are 1004 stars in the "area", of which it is possible to detect traces of life in the Earth's atmosphere, that is, to be observed by alien civilizations.

Extraterrestrial life may or may not be believed, especially since we still have no evidence of the existence of alien civilizations to this day, but studies such as the latter provide useful data for organizations such as SETI and the Breakthrough Listen Initiative, which are still actively looking for such activity. To date, most of the exoplanets found by astronomers have been detected using the transit method - this involves observing the passage of a celestial body through the disk of another celestial body, because when a planet partially obscures a star, it can be detected by analyzing the slight fading of the star's brightness.

As a result, scientists are able not only to confirm the presence of exoplanets, but also to characterize their atmosphere. This is very useful when looking for extraterrestrial civilizations as organic life and industrialization leave their mark on the planet's atmosphere. Our planets could theoretically also be spotted and analyzed by an alien civilization using this method - if a distant astronomer were to observe our planet and its position in relation to the Sun, it would surely detect atmospheric chemicals that indicate our presence.

In the new study, astronomers have identified as many as 1,004 main sequence stars, many of them sun-like, that are able to "host" habitable planets, from where alien civilizations could detect life on ours using the transit method. The team found these planets using data captured by NASA's space telescope, namely the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), which scans the entire sky for planets orbiting bright stars in our immediate vicinity, with particular emphasis on planets similar in worldtoptech to Earth . All of the indicated stars are within 33 light years of Earth, which is close enough to detect markers of life in our atmosphere. In short, if one of them has life on it, maybe it will eventually notice ours and make an attempt to contact us.

The White House unveils a new initiative to protect US technology

The White House unveils a new initiative to protect US technologyOf course, mainly ahead of China, because, as is well known in the case of Donald Trump's administration, similar activity is always the next stage of the trade struggle with the greatest rival.

The US government has announced a new program to protect sensitive technology, especially in the face of China's expansionist drive. This one is called the National Strategy for Critical and Emerging Technologies and will help prevent the sourcing of critical US intellectual property and sensitive technology from foreign rivals. The White House proposal assumes that technology companies will implement security protocols during the early stages of advanced technology development, and that the government will be involved in analyzing the risk of certain projects and determining whether certain technologies will go to allies or not.

Certain technological sectors are to be automatically covered by the new program, such as advanced detection, technologies related to aircraft engines, artificial intelligence, communication and human-machine interfaces. According to a statement issued by the Donald Trump administration: - The United States will not pretend that they do not see tactics used by countries like China or Russia that steal technology, force companies to transfer intellectual property, corrupt the free and fair market and secretly transform emerging civilian technologies for building military strength.

And although both Russia and China are mentioned here, it is the latter country that is treated by the Americans as a constantly growing threat to local entrepreneurship - there are, for example, branches established in the United States that have access to government funds or direct access to huge customer market. Moreover, the White House suggests webalpha the biggest Chinese giants get continued government support to help them dominate foreign markets as long as they stick to party rules - a form of digital colonialism, according to the US. One of them is the law related to the country's cybersecurity, introduced in 2017, which requires Chinese companies to store user data in China and imposes restrictions on data transfers to foreign entities.

This was to be one of the key reasons for the US government's fight against TikTok, which had access to 100 million users in the US alone, which began to raise questions about national security. If we add the fact that the Chinese lead in the rankings in the number of submitted patents, it is easy to guess how much confidential information they have access to - in the last year alone, Chinese companies filed 58,990 patent applications (US 57,840). All as part of an initiative called the Digital Silk Road (DSR), which aims to increase China's technological footprint in the world and it seems that the new plans of the American government assume something similar ... so is it the whole world soon to be concerned about?

The smart windows of the future darken and become solar cells

The smart windows of the future darken and become solar cellsWe are so used to classic windows that it is hard to even imagine that in the future they could be replaced by other solutions ... and yet!

We have already seen artificial windows from Samsung's SunnyFive startup, which are able to perfectly imitate the classic ones, e.g. in places where their installation is not possible, also in terms of sunlight. They produce the full spectrum of natural light, with the angle of incidence changing throughout the day, and according to their creators, we can also count on skin synthesis of vitamin D when indoors (without the risk of burns or skin aging), which is important in geographic regions where there is little natural light and it is virtually impossible to expose yourself to sufficiently long exposure.

Today, we can admire a more classic-looking, but at the same time equally technologically advanced solution, combining color-changing glass and solar panels. Scientists of the US Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) managed to use both technologies and create the so-called thermochromic photovoltaics. As a result, they obtained windows that not only change color when heated, i.e. allow to cut off excessive solar radiation on summer days and save on heating, but also are able to obtain energy from this radiation.

The windows are made of a thin layer of perovskite, which has been seen for some time as the future of solar panels, sandwiched streaming sites links directory two glass panels, with free spaces filled with solvent vapor. When humidity is low, the perovskite remains transparent, allowing light to pass through normally. However, at certain temperatures, the steam causes changes in the arrangement of the perovskite crystals, which causes a color change, thus blocking some light and cooling the room by several degrees. When the window becomes darkened, the process of generating energy also begins.

When the glass reaches a temperature in the range of 35-46 ° C, windows can change color from transparent to yellow, orange, red and brown, all in just 7 seconds. This is a huge improvement over the prototype, which could only change color after reaching 65.5-79.4 ° C, and the whole process took him 3 minutes. If it goes on like this, it will soon be possible to achieve the goal of reducing the need for air conditioning, which consumes huge amounts of energy on hot days and in warmer climates, and even providing it with a small injection of green energy generated through windows.

Historic NASA mission completed successfully. The probe took a sample from the asteroid

Historic NASA mission completed successfully. The probe took a sample from the asteroidThe US Space Agency last night carried out the most daring mission in its history. However, all goals were achieved, so we can talk about a great success.

The OSIRIS-REx probe took a rock sample from the surface of the mysterious Bennu asteroid. There would be nothing extraordinary about it, if not for the fact that the entire project was 200 million kilometers from Earth, and that NASA scientists were performing such an unusual task for the first time.

This mission is groundbreaking not only for the US but also for all mankind. The OSIRIS-REx probe has been observing the asteroid Bennu for 2 years. First, the vehicle carefully mapped the surface of the object and created its three-dimensional map, and then preparations for a quick landing and sampling for further research on Earth were carried out.

Last night, we managed to accomplish this most important mission objective, which was to collect rock samples weighing about 2 kilograms. Next year, the probe will go on a return mission to our planet, and in September 2023 it will land in Utah. The rock samples will go to various American laboratories, where they will be analyzed over the next several years.

It is worth noting here that it will be the largest supply of rock material from an extraterrestrial object since the Apollo mission, in which astronauts brought hundreds of kilograms of lunar rocks to Earth. Scientists expect to discover organic material, i.e. the building blocks of life, there. Objects such as Bennu hide the secrets of the formation of the solar system, including the Earth. Finally, we will find out where the water and life came from on our planet.

Remarkably, Bennu's first studies show us that she can not only be a doorman for our planet, but also a life sower. As the probe approached the object, the scientists launched three spectrometers on board. They collected interesting data on the composition of the asteroid's surface. Data analyzes allowed to determine that the object contains minerals containing combined oxygen and hydrogen atoms, i.e. hydroxyl groups.

They are found throughout the asteroid in clay minerals. However, Bennu is too small to contain water by itself. It was probably present on the primary asteroid that formed Bennu, and therefore we were able to detect it. It is a typical remnant of the early formation of the solar system, so it is also an ideal material for research into primitive volatile and organic substances.

The asteroid Bennu will potentially pose a threat to our planet in 2135. The probability that Bennu will then collide with Earth is only 1: 2700, but despite this fact, astronomers do not underestimate the whole situation, because if it is cosmic rocks, it is by the end nothing is for sure.

Bennu is a cosmic rock with a diameter of 560 meters, weighs 70 million tons, moves at a speed of 28 km / s, orbits the Sun every 437 days and is on a collision line with the Earth, approaching us every 6 years. If it hit our planet, it would cause an explosion with a magnitude of 1.15 netoasis of TNT, about 23 times larger than the largest explosion of a hydrogen bomb. Once OSIRIS-REx has completed the study of the asteroid Bennu, we will know the exact estimates and will use them to create an action plan for future space rock neutralization missions.

The collapsible OLED TV from LG finally goes on sale, but the price knocks off the legs

The collapsible OLED TV from LG finally goes on sale, but the price knocks off the legsThe Korean concern boasted about its innovative design already during the CES fair in 2018, but only now the device is ready for sale to consumers, if, of course, there are well-off people.

The 65-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED R, as we are talking about it, is the world's first OLED TV with a roll-up screen, which has a chance to set a new standard, all thanks to the possibility of free arrangement of the living room and adjustment of the screen aspect ratio. Already during CES, the manufacturer promoted it with the four letters R, i.e. revolution, redefining, rolling and developing, which from the marketing point of view was a great move, but the truth is that although the TV cannot be denied its uniqueness, it is only the price and the users will decide about its potential success. Well, the latter ones can be easily found, but the price disclosed today will certainly cool down the enthusiasm of most of them, because it is over ... PLN 340,000!

However, it should be remembered that we are talking about a premium class product that has much more to offer than just an innovative form. Firstly, it is made of the highest quality materials, such as a brushed aluminum housing or a speaker grill made of high-quality fabric manufactured by the Danish company Kvadrat. In tech boss the TV offers 8K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, is equipped with a second generation α (Alpha) 9 video processor, its display provides an impressive 800 nits brightness and support for 120 fps (HDMI 2.1), and we also have 4.2-channel Dolby Atmos speakers with a power of 100 W, which can be used even when we completely fold the TV.

Returning, however, to what is most interesting, i.e. forms - LG SIGNATURE OLED R can work in three modes, ie Full View with a fully expanded screen, Line View with a partially expanded screen and Zero View with a folded screen. The first is obvious, the second allows you to partially expand the screen and perform activities that do not require the entire display surface (various functions are available here, such as a clock, photo frame, mood building, music player or Home Dashboard control panel), and in the third, the entire 65- the inch TV screen is completely rolled up and hidden in the base of the device. LG also took care of support for smart assistants such as Amazon Alexa, Apple AirPlay 2 or Google Assistant, so users can control the TV using their voice. Is all this enough to justify the price at the level of a good car or a small apartment? LG has never concealed that it is a product aimed at people who appreciate novelties and have no budget restrictions (maybe Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg?), So we don't judge it.

Singapore Airlines is turning its grounded planes into restaurants

Singapore Airlines is turning its grounded planes into restaurantsIn the face of bankruptcy, airlines are grabbing all possible solutions, a perfect example of which is the idea from Singapore, namely an attempt to transform planes into atmospheric restaurants.

From the beginning of the pandemic, it was known that passenger aviation would be one of the industries that would be hit the hardest. First, the forced closure of the borders, which automatically grounded the planes, and then loosening the restrictions, but under the new sanitary regime, which, combined with the natural concerns of passengers, significantly reduced the interest in holiday travels. In short, 2020 will certainly be the most difficult year for airlines in modern history, and we will remember it as the strangest year - for cardboard fans replacing the audience at matches, torrent links catalog imitating crowds, toilet paper shortages and many other "novelties" are added restaurants in grounded planes.

This idea was conceived by Singapore Airlines, which is looking for a way to make any profits in the face of the decline in interest in flying, so soon two Airbus A380s belonging to the company will turn into restaurants where you can enjoy peace and a delicious meal in a comfortable seat. It is worth emphasizing that you can leave a lot of cash here, because although a meal in the economy class will cost from USD 40, the prices in business boxes soar to at least USD 473 - an interesting fact is that you can use the loyalty program counting flew with mile lines.

Singapore Airlines also points out that it will operate in accordance with the sanitary regime in force, which is why only half of the seats will be used on each plane (normally 471). Do you think this is a good idea? It looks like it is, because all the seats for the first two dates, October 24 and 25, were sold out in just 30 minutes and the reserve list is very long! So it seems that many travelers missed being on the plane and have already forgotten how uncomfortable these seats can be during longer flights:) And quite seriously, in the face of restrictions in restaurants, which make not all of them fit in them , additional places to eat a meal seem to hit the spot, especially in the case of planes that stand on the tarmac and do not bring any profit.

See how a huge solar roof from Tesla is built in just 4 days

See how a huge solar roof from Tesla is built in just 4 daysTesla offers not only ecological vehicles, but also solar panels and efficient energy banks. Today you will be able to see how quickly a solar roof is being built in one of the houses in the USA.

For nearly 3 years, Elon Muska has been offering very practical, ecological solutions for homeowners who want to be energy independent and at the same time do not want to mar the roofs of their houses with traditional solar installations. We are talking about the Solar Roof technology. These are solar panels integrated into the roof of the house.

Their advantage is that they look like ordinary roof tiles, but they produce solar energy that can later be used to power all appliances in the house and even charge an electric vehicle. The entire installation is connected to power banks, in which you can store energy and use it during the night or cloudy days.

Tesla offers several different varieties and colors of solar tiles. Certainly, everyone interested in ecology will find something for themselves. Weddle And Sons Roofing posted a video on their YouTube channel where we can see how quickly such a 15 kW 40 square meter solar roof is being built in a house in Kansas.

Solar Roof was created in cooperation with Tesla and Solar City. Tesla bought it a few years ago. Solar roof tiles are currently manufactured at a factory located in Buffalo, New York. The interest in Tesla's solar technology is huge. More and more people want to become independent from external energy supplies. In addition, Tesla solar tiles mean approx. 80 percent lower installation costs compared to traditional solutions. Not to mention the appearance.

Thanks to Solar Roof, you can now build a house in a total remote area, where there is no energy infrastructure, and enjoy green energy at any time of the top web tutorials or year. Elon Musk will soon also offer a cosmic internet that will connect such an ecological house with the whole world, without any cables.
