Before “After Truth” starts: See the first meeting between Tessa and Hardin’s mother now

The theatrical release of “After Truth” aka “After Passion 2” is within reach. To get in the mood, several excerpts from the sequel have been published after the trailer, which should especially please fans of the template.

Even if “After Passion” has a lot of fans in this country, there were also some fans of Anna Todd’s book, who didn’t really warm up to the defused film adaptation. That should change with the continuation of the complicated love story of Tessa (Josephine Langford) and Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin).

With “After Truth”, this time the “Eiskalte Engel” director Roger Kumble, who is responsible for the production, wants to get even closer to the underlying novel *. This will not only be expressed in more freedom of movement (as the trailer and the higher age rating already suggest), but also in other scenes that could have sprung directly from the novel.

Scenes that could have come straight from the novel

This is demonstrated in advance by a few excerpts that were recently published on the official “After Truth” Instagram account.

Hardin’s mother, Trish

In “After Truth” not only the audience gets to know Tessa Hardin’s mother Trish (Louise Lombard). And the first encounter is very similar to that in the book. While Tessa is in the process of folding laundry, Hardin suddenly appears in the apartment.

When Tessa hears that he is in a female company, she fears the worst – only to find out that Hardin’s company is his mother. She greets Tessa very warmly (and relieves that she has no green hair, tattoos and piercings) and incidentally puts Hardin quite embarrassed:

Hardin and Tessa’s complicated relationship

Above all, Tessa and Hardin themselves and the constant ups and downs of their love affair are of course the focus in “After Truth”. After all, Tessa has trouble trusting Hardin at all after his immoral bet in the predecessor.

In a second clip, we see that she cannot escape him and gives him a new chance, in which the two of them go to a party very much in love (at which Tessa is a bit clumsy over a beer pong):

It looks darker in a third scene in which Tessa first jokes with her buddy Landon (Shane Paul McGhie) about her horoscope (and about the fact that she shares her birthday with Josef Stalin), before she then dejectedly reveals that she is Hardin considers immature and has currently blocked him because she no longer wants to know from him:
